Enrollment Certification for VA Benefits
VA Educational Benefits Ongoing Certification
First Time Each Term: EFSC students please use the link below to submit your initial certification request each term online via the myEFSC Portal. Please do not fill out the certification request form until you have registered for classes. If this is your first time certifying or if it has been more than three terms since you certified with Eastern Florida State College, please visit a Military & Veterans Service Center. See the information below if it is your first time or more than three terms.
Submit Enrollment Changes: If you have already submitted a Certification Request for a term and have made any
changes to your schedule since submitting the Certification Request you must use the
link below to submit a VA Enrollment Changes form. It is the veteran or dependent's
responsibility to notify the EFSC Military & Veterans Service Center of ANY changes
to your schedule (drop/add courses). Failure to do so MAY result in an OVER or UNDER
PAYMENT of your VA Educational Benefits.
Getting Started with Certification
To be certified for VA educational benefits, veteran students must notify EFSC Military and Veterans Services of their current class registration and first time students should meet with us first and also students who have not certified for three terms or more. You can schedule an appointment or call 321-433-7880. EFSC Students with Portal Access: Log in to myEFSC and select the Navigate icon; choose Military & Veterans Services under appointment type. Future Students with no EFSC login can request an appointment.
We are now using the VA Enrollment Management program to generate enrollment certification and notices of change of veteran student status. This eliminates manual preparation of these documents, and enables us to electronically send them to the Muskogee Regional Processing Office in Muskogee, OK. The information gets to the regional office the same day and is in their system within 24-48 hours.
For continuously enrolled students and those training under Chapters 33, 30, or 1606, certifications can be submitted for payment as soon as the student is registered for classes and notifies EFSC Military and Veterans Services. Usually, if the student registers early for classes and immediately notifies EFSC Military and Veterans Services, interruption of benefit payments can be avoided. However, there may be a delay in receipt of VA benefits each semester for veterans training less than half-time, as the college cannot confirm enrollment to the VA until after the add/drop period. (About a week after the new term begins).
