
Interactive Media Production Technology - Associate Degree
Are you someone who loves using the power of images and sound to create multimedia content that supports a wide range of industries? Eastern Florida State College's new Interactive Media Production Technology A.S. degree will prepare students for entry level employment as social media specialists, multimedia artists, interactive media designers, and video producers.
In this hands-on program, students will combine skills in critical thinking, writing, photography, video, audio, social media, interactive UX design, and data analytics to produce both traditional and multimedia interactive media productions.
Coursework will help students build a portfolio that demonstrates their skills in video production, graphic design, copywriting, social media marketing, creating interactive media for websites and company branding, audio and video live streaming, photography, and much more.
EFSC plans to launch this exciting new program for Fall Term 2025, building on the success of the Digital Television and Media Production degree, which is closed to new students effective that same term. The Interactive Media Production Technology A.S. will expand the potential career options thanks to a greater emphasis on graphic design, multimedia content creation, interactive media, and social media platforms.

Interactive Media Production Technology A.S. - COURSE CURRICULUM
Courses will include scriptwriting for media, interactive digital content creation — including, photography, video, sound, and UX design — plus studio and field video production. In-person courses are on EFSC's Cocoa campus, with some hybrid courses due to the online nature of the media industry. Technical elective options will allow students to focus on topics that best fit their specific career goals. The curriculum is in the final approval phase and will be shared here when available and be part of EFSC's 2025-26 academic catalog.
Interactive Media A.S. Degree - Admissions Information
If you're interested in pursuing this degree, you can apply by following Eastern Florida's general enrollment process. The program is open to all, with no special requirements for admission. Once it begins in Fall Term 2025, it will be available to start any term thanks to EFSC's rolling admissions process.

If you're a Florida resident, the cost of tuition for this associate degree program is around $6,240. Please note that this amount does not include additional expenses like lab fees, required course materials, or equipment.
You may be eligible for scholarships, Veterans Educational Benefits, or other forms of financial aid such as Pell Grants that can help reduce the out-of-pocket expenses. Students in the program are eligible to apply for the Jacques H. Dubois Scholarship managed through the EFSC Foundation specifically for students in this career field. College Courses You Could Take
While the new degree program's curriculum and new courses are pending final approval, it will include hands-on production courses in EFSC's television studio and in the field so students have a strong foundation in basic video and media production. Other required courses will focus on the expanding fields of interactive, online, and social media. You will customize your education by choosing six credit hours of technical elective classes based on your interests. Explore digital technology through the history of electronic media & modern content authoring tools that shape how we create, share, & interact with information today.
Explore the impact of color, shape, proportion, negative & positive space, and balance as you learn to use various image creation & editing tools.
Use current technologies including Generative AI to create & optimize content for social media platforms, enhance user interaction, & analyze the effectiveness of digital marketing strategies.
Combine audio, video, graphics, & animation using industry standard software with an emphasis on user-centered design, multimedia integration, & storytelling for web, mobile apps, & interactive video.
