Scholarships

Scholarships are a form of financial aid that is considered a gift — so you don't need to repay them! The Eastern Florida State College Foundation coordinates a wide variety of EFSC-specific scholarships, plus there are multiple options through outside local, state, and national organizations. All outside scholarships must be reported to EFSC’s Office of Financial Aid.

Scholarships are often based on scholastic achievement or special talent. Some also take financial need into account.

If you have questions about scholarships or other forms of financial aid at EFSC, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

EFSC Titan Scholarships

EFSC's easy online scholarship application system, Titan Scholarships, encompasses a large variety of scholarships that are fueled by generous donations to the EFSC Foundation. These are based on need, merit, program of study, and other qualifications.

  • Scholarship Amount: From $300 to full tuition and books
  • Who is Eligible? Current or admitted EFSC students who are not dual enrolled
  • How to Apply: The scholarship application opens for priority application timeframes two times a year and students can still apply after those initial times. Log in to the myEFSC portal, select the Titan Scholarships icon, and fill out the application. If needed, you can save it and log back in to finish it later. If the online application is closed, students with a financial need can also contact the EFSC Foundation about scholarships for special limited access programs or specific scholarship needs outside of the application timeframes.

If you meet the required qualifications for a scholarship, the system will automatically enter you for consideration when you fill out your application. Select scholarships require you to provide additional information; these are clearly indicated. You only need to fill out the application one time to be considered for multiple scholarships!

Before you apply, consider submitting the FAFSA. If your FAFSA results indicate that you have financial need, it will increase the number of scholarships you're eligible for.

You can still apply for Spring 2025 Titan Scholarships after the October 17th priority application deadline. Log in to the myEFSC portal and select the Titan Scholarships icon to submit an application.

Florida Bright Futures Scholarships

The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship program has helped more than 660,000 Florida students attend college and offers four kinds of awards: the Florida Academic Scholarship (FAS), the Florida Medallion Scholarship (FMS), the Florida Gold Seal CAPE Scholarship (GSC), and the Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholarship (GSV).

Can I Use Bright Futures Funds During the Summer?

Summer funding is available for Bright Futures Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) and Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) beginning the summer of the year you graduate from high school.

You must enroll in at least six credit hours to be eligible for summer Bright Futures funding. If you require fewer than six credit hours to graduate, contact the Financial Aid Office to request an override.

What Happens if I Drop or Withdraw from a Bright Futures-Funded Class?

If you drop or withdraw from a Bright Futures-funded course after the add/drop period, you must reimburse EFSC for the full cost of that course, and the credit hours for that course will not count toward your renewal requirement. You will also not be eligible to renew your Bright Futures award for subsequent years until you have repaid those funds.

If you drop or withdraw from a course due to a verifiable illness or an emergency beyond your control, you may file an appeal with the Financial Aid Office for an exception.

How Do I Renew My Bright Futures Funding?

If you received Bright Futures funding over the course of the academic year, you will automatically be evaluated for renewal at the end of Spring Term, provided you have met the requirements (GPA, credit hour, etc.). Refer to Chapter 3 of the Bright Futures Handbook for details.
