Deadline to Apply for Spring 2025: November 14, 2024

Read the details below and follow the information and application link in the "How to Apply" section by the Nov. 14th deadline.

Full-Time Dual Enrollment

Full-Time Dual Enrollment enables qualified Dual Enrollment (DE) students to attend Eastern Florida State College full-time in the spring term of their senior year.

Full-Time DE students must be enrolled in four or five EFSC courses in the spring term totaling at least 12 credit hours. Students earn credits that count toward both a college degree and a high school diploma.

Upon completion of their senior year, Full-Time DE students are no longer eligible for Dual Enrollment.

Public, private, and home school students receive required college textbooks and access codes directly from the EFSC Bookstore through the Titan First Day Ready program.

While Full-Time Dual Enrollment students must take all their courses at the college, they remain eligible to participate in high school clubs and athletics and to attend all high school graduation activities. Many are also involved in college clubs and organizations, such as the Student Government Association or Phi Theta Kappa.

At the time of application, home school, private school, and Brevard public school applicants for Full-Time DE must be in the equivalent of 12th grade. Brevard public school students must have completed all specific course requirements for high school graduation, except a 0.5 credit in social studies and/or science and two rigorous course credits. Public school students must complete these requirements in the spring term by dual enrolling in equivalent EFSC courses.

Students must have already completed the EFSC online application for admission and received their college acceptance letter before submitting the Full-Time Dual Enrollment application. In addition to meeting the November 14 deadline, additional eligibility criteria include:

    • College-ready placement test scores in reading, writing, and mathematics
    • An unweighted cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 for associate degree courses or an unweighted cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.5 for College Credit Certificate courses

Course Registration Process

Full-Time Dual Enrollment students must enroll in at least four courses equaling 12 credit hours or more each term and earn sufficient credits at the college to meet high school graduation requirements. Course co-requisites, such as Chemistry Lab, do not count toward meeting the four-course minimum.

Brevard public school students may not register for more than five courses each term unless they have an unweighted high school GPA of at least 3.5 and the permission of their high school.

Students should follow the dual enrollment self-registration process each term.
