Susan McQuinn

Adjunct Music Instructor: Flute

Susan McQuinn is an Adjunct Flute Instructor at Eastern Florida State College in Cocoa, Florida. She was formerly a professor of Flute at Stetson University, the University of Central Florida, and Daytona Beach State College.

McQuinn is also Music Director at New Life Christian Fellowship in Titusville and has performed with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bach Festival Orchestra, the Brevard Symphony, and the Space Coast Symphony.

She holds Bachelor's of Music and Master's of Music degrees in Flute Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and completed 11 years of postgraduate study with Geoffrey Gilbert of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

McQuinn has served on the Board of Directors of the National Flute Association (NFA) and is on the Board of the Florida Flute Association, where she has served two terms as president.

She has been a winner in the NFA Newly Published Music Competition and has performed at numerous NFA conventions as a soloist and with Wye’s Guys and Tour de Flute.

McQuinn is an adjudicator for the Florida Bandmasters Association and has performed solo and chamber recitals in Europe, Mexico, and throughout the United States —  including a New York solo debut at Carnegie Recital Hall.

She is an Altus Flutes Artist.
