Visual Art Suggested Course Sequence

If you're majoring in visual art while you pursue an Associate in Arts (A.A.) at EFSC, it's important to enroll in six to eight credits of art classes each Fall and Spring Term — fulfilling the required 24 elective credits for the degree.

The A.A. degree also requires 36 credit-hours of general education courses, six of which need to be earned in the humanities category. As an art major, you can apply one of your two art history classes (three credit-hours) toward this requirement.

If your long-term goal is to transfer to a bachelor-level art program at another institution, it's crucial to work closely with an academic advisor or Performing and Visual Arts faculty member for assistance with course planning. To ensure a smooth transition, we also recommended consulting with an advisor at the institution you plan to transfer to.
