Steven Amann

Adjunct Music Instructor: Clarinet and Saxophone

Steven Amann is currently the Adjunct Instructor of Clarinet and Saxophone at Eastern Florida State College in Brevard County, FL, as well as the Adjunct Professor of  Clarinet and Saxophone at Seminole State College in Sanford.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida, he received his Bachelor of Music Performance degree in 2015 and Master of Arts in Music degree in 2018.

Along with his primary teachers, George Weremchuk and Jonathan Helton, he has also attended the American Saxophone Academy at Eastman, where he studied with Tim McAllister, Otis Murphy, Kenneth Tse, Carrie Koffman, and Chien-Kwan Lin, and the Frederick L. Hemke Saxophone Institute in Maine, where he studied with Frederick Hemke, Masato Kumoi, John Sampen, Gail Levinsky, and Sean Hurlburt.

He is a currently the lead saxophonist for the Orlando Big Band and performs with the SeaWorld Saxophone Quartet over the holiday season. Previously, he was a member of the National Intercollegiate Band in 2015 and 2017, as well as Southern Winds for their 2017-18 concert season. He also subs with the Same is Lame Jazz Ambassadors and the Orlando Saxophone Project and performs with the Hippocrene Saxophone Ensemble at the University of Central Florida.

Along with performing, Amann runs the Orlando Youth Saxophone Choir, an ensemble part of the Orlando Youth Chamber Ensembles.

In addition to during the school year, Amann helps with the UCF Saxophone Boot Camp, the Stetson Saxophone Workshop, the Bridgewater Music Camp, and the East Orlando Music Camp over the summer.

Along with teaching his own studio of private students, Mr. Amann also teaches at DRF Studios in Maitland, run by Dan Ferri. Amann’s students have earned accolades including All-County and All-State memberships, Superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble, and membership in the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra.
