Facial Specialty - Certificate Program
Are you passionate about skincare? Eastern Florida's Cosmetology Department offers a Facial Specialty Career and Technical Certificate (CTC) program at the Cocoa Campus. Instruction and hands-on practice prepare students for obtaining professional registration from the Florida State Board of Cosmetology.
This affordable, Brevard County-based option for Esthetician training equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to work as Skincare and Facial Specialists. Upon completion, students will be capable of performing a variety of specialized facials — including microneedling, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels; as well as waxing, makeup application, brow and last shaping and tinting services, and more.
Program participants have an opportunity to provide services to the public as part of their training at EFSC's Cocoa Campus Salon, giving them real-world practical and customer service experience before they enter the workforce.
Facial Specialty Certificate - COURSE CURRICULUM
The 220-clock hour course required to earn this certificate prepares students for work as licensed facial/skincare specialists in a variety of spa, office, and retail settings through classes that meet Monday through Thursday.

Facial Specialty Certificate - Admissions Information
Eastern Florida's Facial Specialty CTC is a limited access program that requires an extra application process in addition to EFSC's general application for admission. The process is explained below. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure their application for the facial specialty program is complete.
Summer 2025 Program: April 14 - June 30, 2025, Monday - Thursday, 4 to 9:10 PM
Application Deadline: March 31, 2025
Each group is limited to the first 12 students who complete required EFSC general admissions steps and the Facial Specialty application steps.
Complete & submit the online application for general admission to EFSC. A $30 non-refundable fee is due at the time of application.
NOTE: This step pertains ONLY to students who are not currently enrolled at EFSC. If you're a returning/readmit student who applied one or more years ago, and have not completed a course in the past year, you'll need to re-apply online, and will not be charged the application fee again.
If you're a new student, your general admissions acceptance letter/email will list admissions requirements that must be completed. You must clear Admissions holds that may prevent you from registering for courses, if accepted into the Facial Specialty program. These general requirements can also be found on EFSC's Accepted Students' page.
If you are an existing Eastern Florida student, you will need to verify there are not any holds that would prevent course registration, if accepted into the program. Please visit the Registration Holds page on EFSC's website for details on how to check your Message Center for holds and how to clear them.
Submit the Career and Technical Programs Application for Facial Specialty. This limited access application is in addition to the general application, and MUST be properly submitted with required document by the application deadline. Your general EFSC admissions acceptance letter will include the student email address and credentials you need to log in and submit that Facial Specialty application.
You will be required to submit a separate application even if you previously applied to the Facial Specialty program. If you need help with the Facial Specialty application process, or have any questions about this process, contact the program advisor:

Though this certificate is not eligible for financial aid due to the program's length, students can explore options and eligibility for Veteran's Benefits, scholarships, and the Nelnet Payment Plan.
Where Can This Certification Lead?
This program prepares students for employment as professional Estheticians. Upon completion, certificate-holding program graduates could find work in beauty salons, day spas and medi spas, dermatologist offices, plastic surgeons' offices, with cosmetic/ skincare companies, or within the entertainment industry as make-up specialists. Classroom and clinical instruction focus on building the skills needed to function successfully as an esthetician in varied settings and roles. Students have the opportunity to provide services to the public while building experience in a hands-on setting as part of their training at EFSC's Cocoa Campus Salon.
