HR Management - Organizational Management BAS Specialization

If you're interested in a career in human resources (HR), Eastern Florida's Human Resource Management BAS Track is designed especially for you! This degree track will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel as a human resource specialist, compensation and benefits administrator, trainer and succession planner, or corporate recruiter.

Throughout the program, you'll engage in coursework and projects that'll prepare you for advantageous certifications offered by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), such as the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

The program provides you with the essential expertise to enter the workforce in entry to mid-level human resources positions. Upon completion, you'll be able to demonstrate mastery of various HR functions, including selection and placement, training and development, and the effective management of human resources aligned with your organization's strategic objectives.

The HR Management BAS Specialization is one of the 12 track options available within EFSC's Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Management program.

Human Resource Management BAS Track - Course Curriculum

As a student in the Human Resource Specialization, you'll engage in coursework that covers important subjects like employment and labor relations, employment law, and organizational development and change.

The Organizational Management common core courses offer flexible options — you can choose to attend classes on campus or take them online. It's important to note, however, that the five upper-level HR Track courses are exclusively offered online.

Human Resource Management BAS Track - Admissions Information

The application process for the HR Management program is simple and straightforward. Just follow the general application steps for a bachelor's degree at EFSC. It's important to keep track of the application deadlines to ensure a smooth process. The program offers three start terms: Summer, Fall, and Spring, which begin in May, August, and January, respectively.

If you're interested in the Human Resource Management BAS Track, it's crucial to have completed an Associate in Science (A.S.) or Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree from a college with regional accreditation. Please note that an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree does not meet the minimum eligibility requirements. If you have an AAS degree and are considering transferring to a BAS program, please speak with a bachelor advisor. They can provide guidance and help you determine the appropriate next steps.

Brief Costs and Financial Aid Eligibility

If you're a resident of Florida, you have the opportunity to complete this program at an estimated cost of $7,200. This amount covers the program's tuition and fees, but it doesn't include additional expenses for course materials or lab fees.

After entering the program with an associate degree, you'll need to complete an additional 60 credits. Approximately 39 of these credits will be dedicated to upper-level courses, as outlined in EFSC's fee schedule.

To support you financially throughout your education, there are various options available. You may qualify for financial aid and scholarships, such as the Titan Scholarships provided by the EFSC Foundation. Additionally, there are external scholarships that you can explore to help cover the expenses of your education.

As a student specializing in human resources, you also have access to student benefits and potential scholarships through the SHRM Academic Alignment Program. By being part of this program, you can also take advantage of the resources available to student SHRM members.
