Accreditation at Eastern Florida

SACSCOC circle logoEastern Florida State College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate and associate degrees. Eastern Florida State College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of Eastern Florida State College may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling 404-679-4500, or by using information available on the SACSCOC’s website (www.sacscoc.org).

The Commission should be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support an institution's non-compliance with an accreditation requirement or standard. Day-to-day inquires about the College, such as admission requirements, should be addressed to the appropriate department.

EFSC was granted initial accreditation by SACSCOC in 1965 and received reaffirmation in 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003, 2014, and 2024.

2024 Reaffirmation

Eastern Florida’s institutional accreditation was successfully reaffirmed by SACSCOC in June 2024, with the college officially notified through the 2024 Reaffirmation Letter from the SACSCOC.

During the three-year reaffirmation process EFSC developed a comprehensive self-study compliance report and a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) focused on improving student success.

The process included an off-site committee review of the compliance report and an on-site committee visit in October 2023 to evaluate our processes and provide feedback for the next QEP, Rocket to Success: Taking Online Learning to New Heights.

The accreditation process is intended to assure educational quality and institutional effectiveness. EFSC is now accredited by SACSCOC through June of 2034.
