How to Apply to EFSC As A

Returning/Readmit Student

You’re in the right place if you’re a returning/readmit student who applied to Eastern Florida State College one or more years ago and have not completed a course in the past year. This category includes students who took Dual Enrollment classes prior to high school graduation if more than a year has passed since you took an EFSC class.

Readmit students can apply online and will not be charged the $30 application fee, which they already paid with their prior application. Please note that if you are a returning student who previously applied to EFSC before October 17, 2018, you will need to create a new account in the College's updated online application system, which uses your email address and a password you create for easy login.

Follow the steps below and once you get through Step 2 and are accepted once again to EFSC, you can take care of many of the next steps at the same time so the process moves faster. Reviewing all the steps now so you are familiar with the complete enrollment process helps it go more smoothly.

Steps to Admission

Explore deadlines, programs & campuses.

EFSC has a rolling admissions process, which means we accept new students year-round. We set priority deadlines to give you ample time to complete any follow-up requirements so you can move on to the course registration phase sooner when more classes are available. We continue to process applications after the recommended priority deadline, so apply at any time.

Before you even apply, you want to think about the programs that interest you and that fit with your goals. Eastern Florida offers a variety of degree and certificate programs designed to help you transfer to a four-year college or go directly into the workforce.

Use our Programs A-Z page to check out all the options. You can also explore many programs through our specialized enrollment events.

Our Career Centers also are a resource during this stage of planning and throughout your college experience as they offer free career interest assessments.

It's also a good idea to think about which of EFSC's four campuses you want to consider your main campus — or are you interested in a fully online program through Eastern Florida Online?

As a returning student you may already be quite familiar with EFSC, but you're also welcome to sign up for a Campus tour.

Reapply for admission & provide residency proof.

As you get ready to apply again, you can visit our EFSC Programs and their Admission Requirements page in the catalog to review each program's placement testing requirements, check whether it's eligible for financial aid, and if it requires an additional application process because of being a limited access program.

Submit your application through our online system and remember you'll have to create an account if you last applied before mid-October 2018. You can start an application, save it if you need to, and come back and finish it later.

EFSC Online Application

Please note that application processing can take up to 14 days due to the current volume of applications. Check your email frequently for your acceptance letter.

Be sure to check your email for acceptance information and then follow the additional accepted student requirements to complete your enrollment so you can register for classes.

For determining residency that impacts your tuition rate, the Florida Residency Guidelines, will walk you through the process and required Declaration. This same Declaration is used by non-Florida residents to declare that classification.

Be sure to follow up and submit the residency supporting documents either in person or through our online Student Dropbox. (Don't stress: all the info you need is on that Residency page, plus you can contact the Admissions Team if you have questions).

Complete your accepted student requirements, submit all transcripts & apply for financial aid.

Your acceptance email and letter will list any remaining admissions requirements and include information on how to access the myEFSC Student Portal. Our Accepted Students page also has clear guidance on how to complete requirements and here are highlights about making sure we have your required transcripts.

High School Transcript (If needed)

A final, official High School transcript indicating date of graduation, GED® transcript or Homeschool Graduation Affidavit is required for registration into college courses. Florida public high school transcripts should be sent electronically when possible. If an official transcript must be mailed from your school, ask that they be sent to the EFSC campus you consider your primary campus. See the Accepted Students page for more on how to complete this requirement. Please note: Financial Aid will not be awarded until the official high school transcript is received and evaluated.

College Transcripts (if applicable)

If you have attended any college-level institutions, those official transcripts must be submitted to the EFSC Registrar's Office for evaluation. See more on sending official college transcripts to the EFSC Registrar's Office.

Once you’ve been accepted as an Eastern Florida student, you should start the process of applying for financial aid – and you must reapply each year. Every EFSC student should apply because the only way to find out if you’re eligible is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Explore our Financial Aid section for more information about financial aid and scholarships — and the steps for applying.

Complete orientation & meet with an advisor to determine if you need placement testing.

Online orientation is required for all re-admit students, transfer students, and first-time students, and is recommended for all students. Orientation should be completed before meeting with an advisor and must be completed to clear the orientation hold that prevents course registration. Learn how to access our online orientation system.

Placement Testing

As a readmit student, you may or may not need Placement Testing to assess your readiness for college. An Academic Advisor can review this with you, plus help you develop an educational plan before you schedule classes, and address other academic concerns.

Academic advising is available in the Student Services Center on all campuses on a walk-in basis or by appointment. It's easy to make an appointment through EFSC's Navigate tool that's accessed from inside the myEFSC Student Services portal.

If you’ve taken the SAT/ACT and your scores are less than two years old or if you’ve completed college level English and math courses with a grade of “C” or higher, have your official test score reports and/or official transcripts sent to your primary campus.

In working with an advisor, if it's determined that you do need placement testing or specialized admissions testing for a limited access program, Eastern Florida offers College-Credit placement testing, including the PERT and ACCUPLACER, and Vocational Program testing such as the TABE and TEAS, which you can explore in our Testing Services section.

Register for classes, get your Student ID, parking decal & books.
  • Registering for classes online is the easiest way to go if you do not have any holds on your account. Visit the Class Schedule for current courses.
  • Check out the Student Accounts section for information on paying tuition and fees by the deadline.
  • Student ID cards are available at any EFSC Campus Security Office for free by presenting your class registration and a photo ID. This ID also will be your library card and replacing a lost card costs $10.
  • A Student Parking Permit is required to park on any EFSC Campus. The decal cost varies by term. Getting the permit involves a process to generate a temporary permit online, pay for it, and then pick up the permit at your campus security office.
  • EFSC Bookstores are your source for required textbooks and course materials. Most EFSC courses are automatically part of the Titan First Day Ready program, designed to save students money. At least 30 days before the first day of class each term, the Bookstore will send an email with instructions on how to verify your course materials list, arrange pickup or delivery, or opt out and obtain materials yourself. Check with Financial Aid about help paying for books through what's known as a Book Voucher if you qualify.
