Honors Aspire Program

IGNITE Your Potential: Take Honors Courses with a Lower GPA

We recognize that a grade point average (GPA) is just one measure of a student's capabilities. That's why we're proud to let students apply and be accepted into the Honors Aspire Program even if their GPA is lower than the main Honors requirement, emphasizing potential and passion over numerical scores.

The Honors Aspire Program is designed to unlock your potential and set you on a path to success because we believe that excellence comes in many forms. Whether you're a high achiever or someone ready to embrace new academic challenges, Aspire offers a supportive and dynamic environment to help you reach your goals.

Join a community of other motivated scholars and take advantage of exclusive opportunities, including community building and networking, advanced coursework, and unique research projects. With a focus on individual growth, the Honors Aspire Program is your gateway to academic and personal excellence.

Aspire Admission Criteria & How to Apply

Students who want to be part of the Aspire program must meet following criteria and apply using the Honors Program application.

  • Must have 12 hours or more of college credit and a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Be enrolled in EFSC's Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science degree program. (EFSC bachelor degree programs are not part of the Honors or Honors Aspire programs).
Graduation Recognition as an Aspire Student

Although the Honors Aspire Program allows students to register for Honors courses, it does NOT grant any graduation recognition, such as an Honors Diploma.

If an Honors Aspire student's grades and any other requirements change so that they would meet Honors Program graduation qualifications, they can request a status change with the Honors Office by resubmitting the Honors Program Application one semester before graduation.
