General Business - Organizational Management BAS Specialization

The General Business specialization in the Organizational Management Bachelor of Applied Science degree is intended to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary for a mid-level management position.

Whether you're a working adult who wants to add a bachelor credential to move into a supervisory role or a recent associate degree graduate who wants to earn a business degree to enter the workforce, this General Business track provides training for the real-world.

The program is designed to prepare students for roles as chief executives, labor relations managers, entrepreneurs, operations managers, personnel recruiter, sales managers, administrative service managers, social and community service managers, and management analysts.

The career options in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors are virtually endless since most fields are actively seeking effective managers and leaders.

General business specialization COURSE CURRICULUM

Students will complete coursework relating to current topics in strategic management, customer relations, economics, human resources, accounting, the legal aspects of business, and organizational behavior and communication.

The General Business track is one of 12 specialization options available under EFSC's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program in Organizational Management. It includes options to take the degree's common core and specialization courses on campus, online, or sometimes in a hybrid format.

General Business Specialization Admissions Information

The admissions process follows the general bachelor's degree enrollment steps, which also include upcoming deadlines to apply. Students are accepted into the program for the Spring, Summer, and Fall terms which start in January, May and August each year.

Applicants for the General Business Specialization must have earned an Associate in Science (A.S.) or Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree from a regionally accredited college. An Associate of Applied Science ( A.A.S.) degree does not meet the minimum eligibility requirements. A.A.S. degree holders interested in transfer to this BAS program should consult with an academic advisor to review coursework and determine the best transfer options.

Brief Costs & Financial Aid Information for the General Business BAS Track

Students entering the program with an associate degree will need to complete 60 credits, with about 39 of those credits being upper level courses on the tuition fee schedule. Due to reasonable in-state tuition, the program's two years of courses can be completed for about $7,200 in base tuition if you qualify as a Florida resident.

You may also be eligible for financial aid and scholarships as you complete the Organizational Management - General Business specialization at EFSC. All students are encouraged to apply for both federal aid and scholarships funded through the EFSC Foundation, plus community-based scholarships.
