Prepare for certification exams at EFSC's Boot Camps
EFSC students and alumni can get ready for industry certification exams in a variety of computer/IT related fields and qualify to take the exam for free. Review the information below to see if you qualify and register.
Eligibility and Sign Up: Current and former EFSC students who have successfully completed, with a grade of
“A” or “B” a prerequisite computer course for the boot camp of interest, and who have
the recommendation from the instructor who taught the course can qualify for the a
boot camp with no cost for the training. To sign up or ask questions about a camp,
contact the instructor listed below with each camp.
What is a boot camp? Each camp is a series of two to four sessions, with each session lasting four hours,
that are designed to provide participants test preparation for a popular CompTIA industry
certification exam. These sessions focus on targeted areas of study, and hands-on,
real-world practice exams. Successful completion of this camp qualifies the participant
for a free voucher to take the industry certification exam at EFSC, a substantial savings. Boot camp instructors assist with the online and on-campus
by appointment options for the CompTIA certification testing following the boot camp.
When and where are the camps? Boot camps can be offered during EFSC's Fall, Spring and Summer terms, with the schedule
posted below as camps are available.
CompTIA Security+

Pre-requisite EFSC Course: CTSC 2120 - Network Security Fundamentals
Camp Dates & Times (both sessions are required): 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM both days, June 1 and June 22, 2024

CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1101 - required in addition to 1102 to earn A+ certification)
Visit the CompTIA A+ website for additional information on the benefits of this certification. CompTIA A+ 220-1101
covers mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, virtualization, and cloud
computing. Students can start with either the Core 1 or Core 2 boot camp, but must
pass both exams to earn the A+ Certification.
Pre-requisite EFSC Course: CET 1176 - Computer Maintenance and Repair

CompTIA A+ Core 2 (220-1102 - required in addition to 1101 to earn A+ certification)
CompTIA A+ 220-1102 covers operating systems, security, software, and operational
procedures. Students can start with either the Core 1 or Core 2 boot camp, but must

CompTIA Network+ (N10-008)

CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
The CySa+ boot camp’s objective is to prepare students to pass the CySa+ (CS0-002)
certification. The boot camp covers cybersecurity concepts required for the CySa and
provides virtual labs through CompTia and a study guide. A pre-exam will identify
areas in which students need additional instruction and guidance during the boot camp. Visit the CompTIA CySA+ website for additional information on the benefits of this certification.
