Graduation Information

Students who meet all graduation requirements for any degree or certificate program must apply to graduate to receive their Eastern Florida State College diploma, whether or not they plan to attend commencement exercises.

The Commencement Ceremony is a chance to celebrate your graduation, but taking part in a ceremony does not make you an official graduate.

Meeting requirements and applying to graduate

Degrees are not conferred until the end of the term and upon verification by the EFSC Registrar's Office that all requirements have been met. Students are responsible for determining that they've met all graduation requirements and have no outstanding financial obligations to the college. Your advisor can help make sure you're on track and you can use the myGPS Degree Audit tool to check your progress toward meeting all graduation requirements.

Do not forget to apply to graduate and follow the deadlines listed below, paying careful attention to the deadline to avoid an additional $20 late fee.

We love celebrating your accomplishments so EFSC traditionally holds Commencement Ceremonies at the end of the Fall and Spring Terms at the Melbourne Campus King Center for the Performing Arts. Summer graduates are invited to walk in the Fall Ceremony. Visit the Commencement section for all the details on the ceremonies and guest tickets.

When do I get my diploma?

Diplomas are sent to all graduates within 6-8 business weeks after the end of the term (this timing does not include winter break for fall graduates, but begins when the College reopens). Please allow an additional one to two business weeks after diplomas have been mailed for receipt of your diploma.

Please note that diplomas are sent to all graduates at the address on file. Be sure to keep your address current. Verifying and updating your address is easy! Log in to myEFSC and choose View/Update Address under Personal Information.

If you have already graduated and need to request a duplicate or replacement diploma, visit that page for information.

Need a diploma cover? Contact the Office of the Registrar by sending an email to graduation@easternflorida.edu to find out how to obtain one.
