Eastern Florida State College regularly holds contests and drawings to give current students a chance to win prizes. Explore the list in the accordion below for eligibility requirements, deadlines, how to enter, and more information about each promotion.
EFSC employees or students planning a college-sponsored promotion should review the process and submit a request to add rules to this page. Please note that requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start of the promotion.

Eligibility
The EFSC's Got Talent (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students taking at least one class who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees (including student employees) of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.
Contest Period
The Contest begins on 01/22/2025 at 03:00 PM ET and ends on 02/25/2025 at 08:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
How to Enter
To enter the Contest, eligible students should do the following during the Contest Period:
Show up for one the tryout dates listed and complete an audition:
- Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 3 to 6 PM
- Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 3 to 6 PM
- Monday, February 3, 2025 from 3 to 6 PM
- Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 3 to 6 PM
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Winner Selection
On 02/25/2025 at 07:30 PM ET, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with the judging criteria (Choice of Selection (10 points), Originality or Interpretation (10 points), Presentation and Showmanship (20 points), Execution of Act (30 points), Appropriate Costume (10 points), Audience Reception/Entertainment Value (20 points)) from among all eligible entries in the following location: Palm Bay Campus, Bldg. 1, Rm. 107 (Auditorium). The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 02/25/2025. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Prize retail value may differ at the time of award. The specifics of the prize(s), which is/are funded by the Office of Student Life, will be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution(s) will be permitted, except at the Sponsor's discretion. All prizes are non-transferable and subject to income tax. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation, any and all federal, state, and/or local income taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Any winner of a prize valued in excess of $600 at the time of award must provide their social security number, EIN, or TIN to Eastern Florida State College and shall receive an IRS Form 1099. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use a winner's name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

Eligibility
The Women's History Month Speech Competition (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students taking at least one class who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees (including student employees) of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.
Contest Period
The Contest begins on 03/01/2025 at 12:00 AM ET and ends on 03/27/2025 at 06:30 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
How to Enter
To enter the Contest, eligible students should do the following during the Contest Period:
Submit a speech outline through the self-enrolled Canvas Shell by 5 PM on March 11th. After submission, participants are required to prepare a speech
presentation lasting between four to four and a half minutes. The speech should focus
on a woman, either from the past or present, who has dedicated their lives to education,
mentorship, and leadership. Each presentation must include at least one image to complement
the speech. Participants can use PowerPoint or a similar software to present their
visuals. The completed speech and visuals must also be uploaded to the Canvas Shell.
The contest will be held on Thursday, March 27 on the Melbourne Campus from 5 to 6:30
PM, participants are required to attend.

The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 03/27/2025. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

To enter the Contest, eligible students should do the following during the Contest Period:
Take part in a Women's History Month Kahoot Game at 12:05 PM in Bldg. 3 of the Titusville Campus. There will be a fours games played in total, with one game played each day. The questions will change daily to ensure fairness across playing groups.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Winner Selection
On 03/27/2025 at 12:15 PM ET, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with the judging criteria (Points Scored) from among all eligible entries in the following location: Titusville Campus, Bldg. 3, Rm. 133 (Titan Hall). The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 03/27/2025. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Eligibility
The AFC Fat Tuesday Chili Cook-Off (the "Contest") is open to all currently employed non work-study individuals at Eastern Florida State College who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry.
Contest Period
The Contest begins on 03/04/2025 at 11:00 AM ET and ends on 03/04/2025 at 1:00 PM (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
How to Enter
To enter the Contest, eligible participants should:
Sign up via this online form to participate and showcase your original chili recipe, through that form you can also sign up to bring donated items such as fix-ins for chili, cups, plates, and bowls. Donations and sign ups must be made by close of business on Monday, March 3rd. For questions, please email Christina Johnson-Terry — EFSC's AFC Chapter Historian.
Attendees: With a suggested donation of $5, you will receive individual chili samples to try and a voting sheet.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Drawing, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Winner Selection
On 03/04/2025 at 11:45 AM ET, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with the judging criteria (people's choice — the chili with the highest number of votes) from among all eligible entries in the following location: Melbourne Campus, Bldg. 1, Rm. 220 (Faculty Lounge). The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 03/04/2025. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Eligibility
The EFSC Foundation 9th Annual BBQ Cook-Off Basket Drawing (the "Drawing") is open to all legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia, who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry.
Drawing Period
The Drawing begins on 02/22/2025 at 11:00 AM ET and ends on 2/22/2025 at 2:00 PM (the "Drawing Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Drawing Period will be disqualified.
How to Enter
To enter the Drawing, eligible participants should:
Obtain tickets from a member of the EFSC Foundation staff or an appointed volunteer. No purchase is necessary to enter or win; however, a minimum donation of $5 per ticket, or three (3) tickets for $10, or seven (7) tickets for $20 is recommended.
Tickets should then be placed in the box in front of the basket that you'd like to win. Attendees are eligible to win more than one basket, at random.
Alternative Method of Entry:
Eligible participants (BBQ attendees over the age of eighteen) may request one (1) free drawing entry ticket per household from an EFSC Foundation staff member or appointed volunteer during the drawing period.
Winner Selection
On 2/22/25 at 2:45 PM ET, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) at random from among all eligible entries in the following location: EFSC Melbourne Campus. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 2/22/25. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries.
