Promotions at EFSC

Eastern Florida State College regularly holds contests and drawings to give current students a chance to win cool prizes. Explore the list below for eligibility requirements, deadlines, how to enter and more information about each promotion.

MLK Jr. Remembrance Day Jeopardy-Style Competition

ELIGIBILITY

The MLK Jr. Remembrance Day Jeopardy-Style Competition (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12:00 PM ET and ends on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Click the Microsoft Teams link for the game, and
  2. Follow the rules of play as determined by the host.

This Contest is a team activity, so it won't be possible to join mid-game. All team members must be there from beginning to end. At 12:10 PM, the game will lock out anyone still trying to join, so students should arrive early in order to participate.

Students are only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

WINNER SELECTION

On or around Thursday, January 14, 2021, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (highest number of points) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via MS Teams, social media, email, or telephone on or around Thursday, January 28, 2021. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

PRIZE(S)

Each member of the winning team will receive one:

$15 Panda Express eGift Card

Prize retail value may differ at the time of award. The specifics of the prize(s) will be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution(s) will be permitted, except at the Sponsor's discretion. All prizes are non-transferable and subject to income tax. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation, any and all federal, state, and/or local income taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Any winner of a prize valued in excess of $600 at the time of award must provide his or her social security number, EIN, or TIN to Eastern Florida State College and shall receive an IRS Form 1099. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use a winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

All prizes will be delivered to the winner(s) via Titan student email within ten (10) days from the time of award notification. 

THE FINE PRINT

Participation in the Contest further constitutes the entrant's full and unconditional agreement to these official rules including all additional terms and conditions.

MLK Jr. Remembrance Day Kahoot! Trivia Contest

ELIGIBILITY

The MLK Jr. Remembrance Day Kahoot! Trivia Contest (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 4:00 PM ET and ends on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 7:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Click the Microsoft Teams link for the game,
  2. Use the PIN (available from the MS Teams meeting proctor) to enter the Kahoot! trivia game,
  3. Create a nickname comprised of the first 15 characters of their Titan student email address (failure to do so will result in disqualification), and
  4. Answer the trivia questions.

Students are only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

WINNER SELECTION

BHM "Tell Us About Your Family" Contest

The Black History Month "Tell Us About Your Family" Contest (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 12:00 AM ET and ends on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Check in to Black History Month,
  2. Fill out the Black History Month "Tell Us About Your Family" Contest Form, and
  3. Email it to LibraryB@easternflorida.edu.

Limit one (1) entry per person for the duration of the Contest Period. Entries received from any person in excess of the stated limitation will be void. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
