Promotions at EFSC

Eastern Florida State College regularly holds contests and drawings to give current students a chance to win cool prizes. Explore the list below for eligibility requirements, deadlines, how to enter and more information about each promotion.

Go the Extra Mile (EFSC Employees Only)

ELIGIBILITY

Go the Extra Mile (the "Contest") is open to current employees of Eastern Florida State College who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 12:00 AM ET and ends on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11:30 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, employees should:

  1. Run/walk/swim/bike throughout the Contest Period, logging the number of miles they complete on the official submission form (which will be distributed via email), then send the form to smithr@easternflorida.edu before the end of the Contest Period.

  2. Take a picture of themselves doing the activity, and post it to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using #EFSCExtraMile. Be sure to tag @EasternFlorida in the post.

Limit one (1) collective entry (consisting of the log element and the social media element) per person for the duration of the Contest Period, regardless of method of entry. Entries received from any person in excess of the stated limitation will be void. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

WINNER SELECTION

On or around Sunday, November 8, 2020, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (number of miles logged and composition of social media photos) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via social media, email or telephone on or around Sunday, November 15, 2020. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Prize retail value may differ at the time of award. The specifics of the prize(s) will be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution(s) will be permitted, except at the Sponsor's discretion. All prizes are non-transferable and subject to income tax. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation, any and all federal, state and/or local income taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Any winner of a prize valued in excess of $600 at the time of award must provide his or her social security number, EIN or TIN to Eastern Florida State College and shall receive an IRS Form 1099. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use a winner’s name, likeness and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

All prizes must be claimed in Cocoa Campus, Building 13, Room 124B (1519 Clearlake Road, Cocoa, Florida 32922, United States of America) within ten (10) days from the time of award notification.

Virtual Music Bingo

ELIGIBILITY

Hispanic Heritage Month Virtual Music Bingo (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM ET and ends on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 2:30 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Check in to Virtual Hispanic Heritage Month,
  2. Click the link to join virtual music bingo on Microsoft Teams using their Titan student email account. After joining, students will be provided access to the bingo game.

Students may compete in multiple rounds of bingo, but are only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

WINNER SELECTION

On or around Monday, October 19, 2020, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (first one to correctly call bingo) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via social media, email or telephone on or around Monday, October 19, 2020. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

The winner(s) of the Contest will receive:

Halloween Costume Photo Contest

ELIGIBILITY

The Halloween Costume Photo Contest (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 9:00 AM ET and ends on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 6:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Check in to the Virtual Fall Festival,
  2. Take a creative photo of themselves in a Halloween costume and/or makeup, and
  3. Submit the photo in one of three categories (Best Costume, Best Makeup, or Best Day of the Dead Look) using the Halloween Costume Photo Contest Submissions Form. (To access the form, students must log in using their Titan student email address.)

Limit one (1) entry per person for the duration of the Contest Period. Entries received from any person in excess of the stated limitation will be void. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

On or around Monday, November 2, 2020, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (greatest number of votes in each category) from among all eligible entries. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via social media, email or telephone on or around Monday, November 9, 2020. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 6:00 PM ET and ends on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 8:30 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Check in to the Virtual Fall Festival,
  2. Click the link to play Kahoot! trivia in Microsoft Teams,
  3. Enter a username comprised of the first 15 characters of their Titan student email address (after receiving the Kahoot! PIN from the meeting proctor), and
  4. Answer the trivia questions.

Students may compete in multiple rounds of trivia, but are only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

WINNER SELECTION

On or around Monday, November 2, 2020, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (greatest number of correct answers) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via social media, email or telephone on or around Monday, November 2, 2020. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.
