Eastern Florida State College’s Emergency Management Team is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Elsa and working with Brevard County Emergency Management to get the most up to date information.

At the present time, we expect that the college will remain open and classes will be held on Wednesday, July 7 as scheduled.

A Tropical Storm Watch/Warning is not expected for Brevard County. However, we can expect rain with the possibility of some periodic high winds. Heavier rains are expected to begin later today and may continue through 2 a.m. tomorrow morning (Wednesday, July 7).

Tornadic activity is always a possibility with these storms, and we encourage you to take precautions for you and your family through the evening and early morning hours.

You can maintain awareness of real-time weather via the local National Weather Service site or Spectrum News Channel 13 among other weather services or news mediums.

Please continue to monitor the EFSC website and this news item for updates as we continue to monitor the storm’s track and its potential impact to Brevard.
