EFSC Students to Perform Holocaust Remembrance Plays

March 13, 2019

Two Holocaust Remembrance plays will be presented at the Eastern Florida State College Melbourne Campus on Wednesday, April 10 at the King Center for the Performing Arts in the Studio Theatre.

Performances are set for 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. They are free and open to the public. The Melbourne Campus is located at 3865 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32935.

The remembrance plays selected are “Face Forward: Growing Up in Nazi Germany” by Brendon Votipka, produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc., and “A Train Ride Away” by Frank Gibbons, produced by special arrangement with Lazy Bee Scripts.

In “Face Forward: Growing Up in Nazi Germany,” three young people living in Nazi Germany struggle to claim their identities and transition into adulthood in this play about ethics, family, and self-perception.

“A Train Ride Away” is a one-act play that tells the story of a Hungarian Jewish family being transported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp in 1944.

A special Director’s Talk will follow the first performance at 6:30 p.m. in Rehearsal Room 168.
