Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Funds EFSC Public Safety Scholarships

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has awarded $20,000 to the Eastern Florida State College Foundation for scholarships to help students study for careers as first responders.

The money will support 10 students in the law enforcement, firefighting, paramedic and EMS/EMT programs enrolled full-time at the college’s Public Safety Institute.

Students must be a U.S. resident, maintain a 3.0 GPA and complete an application and essay online through the EFSC Titan Award System. Selection will be based on essay ranking and criteria.

“We’re very grateful to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for their generous donation,” said Jennie Kriete, Director of the EFSC Foundation.

“First responders risk their lives to protect ours. It’s a special calling that requires dedication and courage, and the scholarships will play an important role in helping students achieve their goals and protect our community.”

The EFSC Foundation provides scholarships to Eastern Florida students studying on its Titusville, Cocoa, Melbourne and Palm Bay campuses, and online. Last year, it awarded a record 766 scholarships.
