Students in the Eastern Florida State College Performing & Visual Arts Department will present the A.R. Gurney play The Dining Room on October 20, 21, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and October 22 at 2 p.m. at the Simpkins Fine Arts Center (Bldg. 4) in the Studio Theatre on the EFSC Cocoa Campus.
The Cocoa Campus is located at 1519 Clearlake Road.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students with a current college ID card, seniors and the military. Tickets will be sold at the door prior to each performance.
The Dining Room is a thought-provoking comedy featuring vignettes from a series of families that all take place in the same dining room over multiple generations. Taken together, they tell the story of America’s transition from a society focused on the upper middle class to a culture where progress is replacing tradition.
The play was a finalist for the 1985 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
