Eastern Florida Phlebotomy Program to Hold Orientation
October 5, 2017
The Phlebotomy Program at Eastern Florida State College will hold an orientation for all those interested in the program on Wednesday. Oct. 18 from 6-8 p.m.
The meeting will be held on the Cocoa Campus in Bldg. 20, Room 205. The Cocoa Campus is located at 1519 Clearlake Road.
The deadline to apply for the Spring Term program is Nov. 1. Classes begin in January. An orientation session is a requirement for admission.
Phlebotomists are medical professionals who draw blood from patients for various lab tests and procedures.
EFSC's Phlebotomy Program is a 16-week course of study. A six-week mini-semester course with lab is taught on campus, followed by a 10-week, supervised 105-hour hospital experience.
The program currently is offered in the Spring and Fall terms. Upon completion, students are eligible to take a national certification exam (state of Florida certification not required). Students must be 18-years-old to be accepted into the program.
