EFSC Dental Clinic Expands Popular Youth Program
January 25, 2017
Beginning this month, the Eastern Florida State College Dental Clinic will help Brevard County children be healthy kids with happy smiles year-round.
The clinic will provide free dental cleanings and exams to children ages 3-17 throughout the year.
The appointments may also include fluoride treatments, X-rays and sealants based on the need of the child. Each child will also receive a free T-shirt, toothbrush and toothpaste.
The effort is an extension of the college’s "Happy Smiles Happy Kids" dental program which was previously held in March each year.
The program has been funded each year through the generosity of Guy and Delores Spearman
because of their desire to ensure children in the community have access to dental
health care.
“We’re very grateful to the Spearman’s for their dedication to Brevard's children
and meeting this unmet community need,” said college President Dr. Jim Richey.
“Our Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting students have long been proud of their efforts
with the annual Happy Smiles Happy Kids event. It’s wonderful for us to extend that
help year-round.”
