Public Safety Institute Offers Basic Abilities Test (BAT)

April 15, 2016

Starting April 25 the Brevard Police Testing and Selection Center (BPTC) at Eastern Florida State College’s Public Safety Institute will offer the Basic Abilities Test (BAT) on a walk-in basis at its office on the EFSC Melbourne Campus.

The BAT is the state mandated, entry-level, written exam for all applicants seeking careers in law enforcement or corrections.

The testing now will be provided on a “walk-in” basis.  Appointments are no longer necessary.  Applicants may stop in for testing Mondays through Thursdays each week from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The BPTC is located in the Public Safety Institute, Building 8, on the EFSC Melbourne Campus, located at 3865 North Wickham Road.

Applicants are encouraged to visit online at www.brevardpolice.org, to complete and print the registration form. The form should be brought to the testing, along with the $75 fee (money order only payable to “BPTC”).
