The Dental Assisting and Hygiene Programs at Eastern Florida State College are again teaming up with local dental professionals for the “Happy Smiles-Happy Kids” free dental health fair for children under 18 years old.

The campus is located at 1519 Clearlake Road, Cocoa.  Building 20 is located off of Rosetine, adjacent to the YMCA building.

The dental fair has been made possible each year thanks to the generosity of local community leaders, Guy and Delores Spearman, and the efforts of faculty, staff, administration and students in both of the dental departments at EFSC.

The Spearman’s also provide funding to the Brevard Health Alliance so that any referred children, not seen at the event, can be seen at their facility.

“We are extremely grateful to Guy and Delores Spearman for their continued dedication to this event, and proud of our dental program students,” said Dr. Jim Richey, president of Eastern Florida State college. “EFSC students have a strong reputation for civic engagement and this special program showcases their desire to make a difference in the lives of local children. It is also proof positive why our dental assisting and hygiene programs are two of the best in Florida.”

The Happy Smiles-Happy Kids Dental Fair has provided care to more than 600 children since its inception.

This continues to be possible thanks to more than 50 local dental professionals who volunteer their time and energy at the day-long event which includes screenings, fluoride treatments, dental sealants, child cleanings, X-rays, fillings and extractions.
