September Information Session Planned for 50+ Work Program
August 14, 2015
A second round of Information Sessions are planned for the "BACK TO WORK 50+: Women’s Economic Stability Initiative," which will help women age 50 and older find jobs in Brevard County and build the financial capability to make sound decisions that reduce debt, rebuild savings and pave the way to greater financial stability.
The training program is made possible by funding from the AARP Foundation's Social Innovation Fund, which awarded Eastern Florida State College a three-year subgrant of over $456,000 that the College will match dollar for dollar with a total investment of over $913,000 to help train women age 50+ with new skills that can lead to employment.
An information session is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16 from 3 to 5 p.m. on the Melbourne Campus, 3865 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935 in the Bldg. 4 Auditorium.
Those interested in learning more are encouraged to register for the Information Session by calling (855) 850-2525 or visiting www.aarpfoundation.org/sif
Career Source Brevard is a key partner in the effort, helping to connect the women
with employers, improving their prospects of reentering the workforce.
The goal is to have about 150 women enrolled in the program in its first year.
Initial information sessions were held in mid-July.
