Welcome Back Set for August 13 at King Center

The annual Welcome Back event for faculty and staff signaling the start of the Fall Term will be held Thursday, Aug. 13 at the King Center for the Performing Arts on the Melbourne campus.

The morning will include a 10 a.m. program featuring a college update by President Dr. Jim Richey and other speakers who will discuss new initiatives and programs.

Staff must receive permission from their supervisors to attend the event, which will include lunch in the Melbourne campus gym.

Here is the complete Aug. 13 schedule at the King Center:

  • 8:30 - 10 a.m.:  Cluster Chair meeting
  • 10 - 11 a.m.: Welcome Back program
  • 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Staff lunch
  • 11 a.m.- 12 p.m.: UFF faculty meeting
  • 12-1 p.m.: Faculty lunch
  • 1 p.m.-5 p.m.:  In-service training for faculty and staff

An important reminder: EFSC staff have five-day work weeks effective Aug. 3 through Aug. 14 to accommodate registration and add/drop. Employees should plan to work eight hour days with a one hour lunch.

The regular nine hour day, four-day staff work week will resume Monday, Aug. 17.  

Faculty report Aug. 13 and also work Friday, Aug. 14 with a five-day faculty work week Aug. 17-21.
