Volunteers Needed for Library eReader Research Project

October 16, 2014

The EFSC Library System is seeking full-time EFSC students, faculty and staff to participate in a study and focus group on Kindle eReaders.

The project will culminate with a one-hour focus group in March 2015 at the participants' home campuses.

A quick online survey is required to determine eligibility: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NVFKCCY.

Approximately 32 volunteers will be selected from the surveys to participate in the study. If you selected, participants will be asked to sign a consent form and will receive a Kindle eReader on loan for the length of the study (January-March 2015) and a $50 Amazon gift card to buy and download books.

"The research project is about establishing a viable service framework incorporating current technology and EFSC community need, while continuing ongoing e-reader and e-book research,” said Mem Stahley, Dean, EFSC Learning Resources.

After using the Kindle for two months, participants will be required to attend a one-hour focus group meeting at their home campus.

At the close of the study, participants will receive another $50 Amazon gift card as a thank you. Faculty and staff who accept the thank-you gift card should be aware that the $50 will be included in their taxable wages on their W2 form.
