Eastern Florida EMT Program Brings Strong Return on Tuition Investment
September 12, 2013
A solid career bang for their higher education buck.
That’s what students in Eastern Florida State College’s Emergency Medical Technician program can expect upon graduation, using affordable tuition to gain jobs in public safety.
The college earned the kudos in a new study by Fire Science Online, which provides information about fire science, firefighting, first responder education and other careers.
The report said Eastern Florida’s EMT program ranked 29th in the U.S. in providing the best return on investment.
Some 19 other colleges in the Florida College System of which Eastern Florida is a member were included in the top 80 EMT programs in the nation. In all, more than 1,100 colleges offer EMT training.
“EMT’s are among the first line of defense in protecting lives and we’ve long been proud of our program and those who dedicate themselves to serve our community,” said college president, Dr. Jim Richey.
“The report shows EMT students can receive an excellent education at an affordable price at Eastern Florida, getting a sound return on what they spend on tuition.”
Fire Science Online identified programs with the highest return on investment using national salary, tuition, and enrollment and accreditation data.
The findings follow another report that found online criminal justice degree programs at Eastern Florida are among the best in the nation, providing students the accessibility and flexibility they need to learn and graduate.
The report was conducted by BestOnlineColleges.org, which ranks online programs nationwide to help parents and students make the best decision when choosing an institution of higher education.
