Chorus of 180 Voices, Symphony Musicians Present Elijah

Members of the Brevard Community Chorus, Brevard Chorale and BCC Concert Choir will present a full-scale performance of Elijah on Saturday, May 11th, at 7:30 p.m. at the King Center for the Performing Arts, 3865 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne, 32935.

The concert will be presented and conducted by Dr. Robert E. Lamb, Professor of Music, Director of Choral Activities, and Chair of the Department of Performing and Visual Arts for Brevard Community College.

Accompanied by select players from the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, the 180-voice massed chorus will perform the oratorio featuring local bass standout Kyle Knappenberger in the title role of Elijah.

The classical concert will last approximately two hours.

"Mendelssohn was a devotee of Handel, whose Messiah oratorio we performed in December," said Lamb. "The audience can expect a similarly powerful experience. And," he added, "I can't imagine a better singer in the title role of Elijah than the extremely talented Kyle Knappenberger. We are lucky to have him right here in Brevard."
