BCC Students on State Academic Team

Six students from Brevard Community College have earned a place on the prestigious 2013 All-Florida Academic Team.

The team recognizes students for their academic achievement, leadership and service to their community. They join 117 other students from the Florida College System who also made the grade.

“These students are among the best and brightest in the Sunshine State and are examples of the outstanding scholarship that many BCC students demonstrate every day,” said BCC President, Dr. Jim Richey.

“I’m extremely proud of their accomplishments and know the community is too. They have great futures ahead of them.”

The students are:
First Team:
• Casey Covel, who is pursing as Associate in Arts Degree. She also earned a $1,500 Coca-Cola Gold Scholar Scholarship.

Second Team:
• Alivia Dandurand, who has earned an Associate in Arts Degree and is pursuing studies in business.
• Cameron Felski, who is pursuing as Associate in Arts Degree.
• Tecla Kindschi, who is pursing as Associate in Arts Degree.
• Amanda Mazella, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree.
• Christopher Naulty, who is studying business.

The six were also nominated by BCC to the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by USA TODAY and the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.

The All-Florida Academic Team will be honored April 9 at a luncheon and awards ceremony at Daytona State College.
