Stress Awareness Day Offers Fun Ways to Chill Out
March 6, 2013
Stressed out?
Don’t worry, because Brevard Community College has the perfect way to help you chill out.
It’s the annual Stress Awareness Day that features fun events along with information on a number of careers.
The event will be held Wednesday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the outdoor pavilion on the Melbourne Campus. It’s sponsored by the campus’s Psychology Club.
This year’s theme is “Arrest the Stress” and will include music, food, raffle prizes and free massages.
Officials from high-risk career fields also will be present to talk about how they deal with stress and the career choices their work offers.
Participating agencies include the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Melbourne Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, Melbourne Fire Department, U.S. Army and ROTC.
Money generated from the event will be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.
BCC currently offers more than 100 two-year degree and certificate programs and will start offering four-year bachelor degrees in August after becoming Eastern Florida State College on July 1.
