Expanded Wi-Fi Access Prompts New Student Fee
July 5, 2012
July 5, 2012 - In an effort to provide Wi-Fi access, control costs and conserve resources,
the college has implemented a $10 per semester access fee for all students, beginning
Fall term 2012.
The fee will be assessed for all students upon their first enrollment in any class for the Fall 2012 term. The fee is $10 regardless of how many credit hours taken.
The fee was implemented to provide college-wide Wi-Fi access to the student network at many locations around the college. In the future, student Wi-Fi access will be expanded to include all college buildings.
Part of the fee also pays for a new print management system. The system will provide each student with a print manager account that can be used to send print jobs to any college networked printer from anywhere in the world via the internet.
Each black and white print will cost 10 cents and each color print will cost 25 cents.
Students can fund their print manager account using a web based interface with their Higher One card, other credit or debit card or at any cashier office with cash.
At the beginning of the Fall term, each registered student will receive a credit of $4 in their print manager account for college-wide printing.
