Space Program Future Focus of Lecture

April 4, 2012, Brevard County, FL - The future of the U.S. space program and its impact
on the Florida and Brevard County economies will be the subject of the next event
in the Brevard Community College Space and Lecture Series.
“What’s Next? A Turning Point in the United States Space Program,” will be held Friday, April 13, at 7 p.m. at the BCC Planetarium and Observatory on the Cocoa Campus, 1519 Clearlake Road.
It is free and open to the public.
The lecture will examine the status of the U.S. human spaceflight program as it moves toward private companies launching astronauts, threats to America’s space leadership and long-term goals and opportunities for NASA and commercial launch firms.
The panel of experts includes:
- Janet Petro, Deputy Director, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center
- Frank DiBello, President, Space Florida
- Mike Leinbach, Director of Human Spaceflight Operations, United Space Alliance
- John Kelly, Local Editor and Space Columnist, Florida Today Communications
