BCC Celebrates Black History Month

February 22, 2012, Brevard County, FL - The Brevard Community College Drama Club will
present “A Woman Called Truth” as part of its celebration of Black History Month.
The play tells the story of the life of Sojourner Truth, an African-American abolitionist and women’s rights activist during the 19th century.
The play will be presented on Feb. 22 at 12:15 p.m. and 7:30 pm in the Studio Theatre of the Bernard Simpkins Fine Arts Center on the Cocoa campus. It is free and open to the public.
“A Woman Called Truth” was written by Sandra Fenichel Asher and is directed by Dr. Janet E. Rubin, an adjunct with the theatre department at BCC.
Rubin is a newcomer to Brevard County, having recently moved here from Michigan where she taught theatre for 30 years at Saginaw Valley State University.
