Borrowing Materials

Borrowing Materials from EFSC Campuses

When you use the search engine known as Primo and narrow your search to "Library Catalog" to find materials from EFSC, you can place a hold on the item and select any campus library for pickup. Library staff will contact you when the item arrives.

  • Requests are filled as soon as possible
  • Materials requested from another EFSC campus usually arrive within two to three working days
  • If borrowed materials are damaged or lost, it is the patron's responsibility to pay replacement costs and processing fees

Borrowing Materials from Other Libraries in Florida

When you use the Primo search tool to find materials, you can use the "Statewide Catalog" search filter to expand your search to include the holdings of academic libraries across Florida. If you do not find what you are looking for locally, you can log in to your library account to see more results from across the state and select items from other locations.

To request materials, use the UBorrow request link under the item record and select an EFSC pick-up location. Log into your library account if needed to complete this request. You will be contacted by library staff when the material arrives.

The loan period for UBorrow items is 45 days from the time the item arrives on campus, and you may request one 30-day renewal. UBorrow renewals are placed exactly like EFSC item renewals - through the Renewals/Library Account link in Primo.

Renewals must be placed before the due date, and you will receive an email notification with the new due date or request denial. UBorrow books should be returned to the pickup campus. To learn more, visit the UBorrow FAQs page.
