Canvas Mobile

Canvas is built on open web standards, and most features are supported on mobile devices. With the growing use of mobile devices, instructors should build their courses with best practices for mobile users in mind.

Mobile Browsers

You can access Canvas on your mobile device through any mobile browser. However, mobile browsers are not officially supported. Canvas has been optimized for desktop browsers. The best experience on mobile devices is by using the Canvas apps (student and teacher). See the limited-support mobile guidelines for more information.

Mobile Applications

Instructure is actively improving their native mobile applications to support as many Canvas features as possible. Canvas has two native mobile applications free for download on both phones and tablets. Please note that mobile applications are only supported in English at this time. Mobile App Guides

  • Canvas Student This app is the mobile version of Canvas that helps students stay current with their courses on their mobile devices.
  • Canvas Teacher This app is specifically designed for instructors and allows them to communicate with students and grade assignments on the go.

The Canvas Guides and Canvas Community provide comprehensive and searchable databases for most topics.
