This vibrant month-long celebration, observed nationally from September 15th to October 15th, pays tribute to the histories, cultures, and achievements of Hispanic and Latinx individuals. Join us through cultural performances, educational workshops, art exhibitions, guest speakers, and more — all aimed at fostering understanding and appreciation for Hispanic culture.

"Who Am I?" — A Month-Long Social Media Story Challenge

Keep an eye on Eastern Florida's Instagram for biweekly interactive story games, designed by EFSC Grants Writer Devlin Deveney. Test your knowledge by guessing the featured Hispanic figure in each post!

Online Library Event

Complete the "Profiling Greatness Activity" form, in which you'll share information about select Hispanic Pioneers of change using the Biography in Context online research tool. After emailing or dropping off the completed form, students can pick up a freebie from their campus library.

Visiting Artist Exhibition

Renowned Colombian visual artist Maria Elena Elvira (Manena) brings the community together through art, showcasing a beautiful collection of works by Hispanic art masters and local emerging artists. Enjoy light refreshments on Thursday, September 19th from 5:30 to 8 PM during the exhibition opening at the Cocoa Library.

Charla Nuestras Voces — Virtual Teams Event

Join us for an online Microsoft Teams discussion panel on October 9th, from 2 to 3:30 PM, highlighting three medical pioneers: Domingo Santo Liotta (inventor of the first total artificial heart), Julio Palma (inventor of the stent), and Jorge Reynolds Pombo (major contributor to pacemaker technology).
