COVID-19 Update: Fall Graduation

 
 
 
 

Sept. 22 Update: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EFSC will not be holding an on-campus Fall Term Commencement on December 17. Instead, a Virtual Commencement Ceremony will be posted on the college website and social media platforms at noon on Thursday, December 17 to celebrate all fall and summer term graduates. College staff are also planning drive-through celebrations on each campus that same day from 11 AM to 6 PM for graduates and their families to take photos and pick up diploma covers. Graduation Fees & Supplies

Question 1:  Graduation Fee

$20 per Intent to Graduate Application. A separate form must be submitted for each degree.

Question 2:  Late Fee

A $20 late fee is assessed for each application submitted after the published deadline of the term in which you apply to graduate. For graduation deadlines, refer to the graduation homepage or the academic calendar.

Question 3:  Caps, Gowns & Announcements

Graduates are required to wear an Eastern Florida State College blue or green cap & gown, which includes a commemorative blue & green EFSC tassel. EFSC's four campus bookstores are your source to purchase your cap & gown and tassel. Robes are green for graduates receiving a bachelor's degree and blue for all others. The bookstore offers online ordering for all graduation supplies, with Fall Term 2020 orders being shipped to the student's home address (free ground shipping). An online order can include other items, such as announcements.

Order Fall 2020 Commencement caps and gowns online by Nov. 20, 2020 to ensure free delivery in time. Once the deadline for online ordering passes, you can purchase your regalia by visiting a campus bookstore. Limited regalia is currently available in the EFSC Bookstores. Please Note: Fall Term 2020 Commencement has transitioned to a virtual celebration online on Dec. 17, 2020 with drive-through celebrations also held on each Campus that day to allow graduates to take photos. If you are purchasing a cap and gown to use in photos, it will include the tassel. The items cannot be returned in the packages have been opened.

To purchase as part of the bulk order at your campus bookstore, you can also stop in the store. Your supplies can then be picked up once they arrive. Click for Bookstore locations on each campus.

Question 4:  Duplicate/Replacement Diploma

To request a duplicate or replacement diploma, submit a Request for Duplicate or Replacement Diploma form and pay the $20 nonrefundable fee for each duplicate or replacement diploma. You may submit the form in person to any campus admissions office, by fax to the Office of the Registrar, or by mail. Allow 6 -8 business weeks for delivery upon submission of the form.

To request a duplicate or replacement diploma:

In Person: Submit the completed form with payment to any campus cashier office 

Fax: Fax the form to 321-433-7172 and then call the Office of the Registrar at 321-433-7284 to be transferred to the Cashier to make payment.

As of July 1, 2013 all replacement diplomas requested are printed as an Eastern Florida State College diploma. Replacement diplomas for degrees originally conferred before the name change from BCC to EFSC include the statement: “Degree granted by Brevard Community College. This institution officially became Eastern Florida State College on July 1, 2013.”

All duplicate and replacement diplomas will be stamped: “Issued as Duplicate of Original Diploma.”

Question 5:  Re-Application Fee

Students who do not complete all graduation requirements in the term during which they initially applied must submit a new Intent to Graduate application and pay the $20 processing fee in the term that the requirements are completed. Applications must be submitted by the published deadline date.
