Accreditation at Eastern Florida
Eastern Florida State College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate and associate degrees. Eastern Florida State College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of Eastern Florida State College may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling 404-679-4500, or by using information available on the SACSCOC’s website (www.sacscoc.org).
The Commission should be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support an institution's non-compliance with an accreditation requirement or standard. Day-to-day inquires about the College, such as admission requirements, should be addressed to the appropriate department.
EFSC was granted initial accreditation by SACSCOC in 1965 and received reaffirmation in 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003 and 2014.
2024 Reaffirmation Process Resources
Eastern Florida is currently going through reaffirmation of institutional accreditation through SACSCOC. During this three-year process EFSC developed a comprehensive self-study compliance report and a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) focused on improving student success.
The reaffirmation process includes an off-site committee review of the compliance report and an on-site committee visit to evaluate our processes and provide feedback for the next QEP, Rocket to Success: Taking Online Learning to New Heights.
Faculty and Staff: View information on how to access the internal Reaffirmation Report inside the myEFSC Portal plus details on key sections to review and other resources as you prepare for the upcoming Oct. 9-12 site visit.
The accreditation process is intended to assure educational quality and institutional effectiveness. EFSC anticipates full reaffirmation in summer of 2024.
