Industry Certifications

EFSC's Engineering Technology program courses align with several industry certifications. Industry certifications bolster resumes, encourage higher salaries, and may assist in job retention.

They have become an important part of the workforce as employers are seeking individuals with skill sets that will help their organization compete locally and globally. People who have earned an industry certification through training, followed by an approved exam, have demonstrated they have specific knowledge in technical areas.

Engineering Technology instructors are approved to administer exams for IPC Certifications, the standard devised by the Electronics Industry Global Trade Organization known as IPC. The information below explains the Engineering Technology courses that can lead to specific IPC certifications.

The College's Assessment Centers are approved to administer exams for many other certifications that EFSC Engineering Technology courses can prepare you for, including:

  • Manufacturing Skills Standards Council - Certified Production Technician (MSSC-CPT)
  • SOLIDWORKS Certification

IPC Certifications and Related EFSC Courses

IPC Certifications are the standard in demonstrating electronics manufacturing knowledge. EFSC's Engineering Technology program instructors offer five courses that can lead to four IPC Certifications. These courses can be part of the A.S. degree and also part of many of the related Engineering Technology College Credit Certificates.

IPC testing is done under the supervision of a certified IPC trainer and EFSC instructors are certified to offer the testing to students who have completed the required coursework.
