Composite Fabrication and Testing - Certificate Program
Eastern Florida State College's Composite Fabrication and Testing certificate program will prepare you for entry-level employment in composite material fabrication, composite production of fiberglass lamination and fabrication, or will provide supplemental training for individuals previously or currently employed.
Composite manufacture and repair covers many industries, including boat manufacturing, aerospace, transportation, the military, custom markets, and even Disney.
Florida is a major manufacturer of boats, almost all made of fiberglass, plus composites are being increasingly utilized in the aerospace industry. Industry professionals from around Florida have visited the EFSC lab on multiple occasions, and been impressed at how hands-on and robust it is compared to other training options.
EFSC is one of the only colleges in Florida offering a composites program, which was designed with the help of area manufacturers to ensure students are learning skills necessary to compete for local jobs.
Composite Fabrication and Testing COURSE CURRICULUM
The Composite Fabrication and Testing program consists of seven courses, which you can complete in about a year and a half as a full-time student.
Class time is spent working on composite projects, including fun projects such as a skateboard deck, utilizing the exact same processes and equipment used in industry.
Credits you earn in this college credit certificate can also apply to EFSC's Engineering Technology A.S. degree.
