Writing Centers
The Writing Center, available on all four EFSC campuses, offers a comprehensive range of services to enhance your writing skills, whether you're working on a course assignment, professional letter, scholarship essay, résumé, or other written document.
Our services include:
- Tutoring: Schedule individual or small group tutoring sessions either in person or online to
refine your writing skills.
- Workshops: Participate in sessions covering various academic writing topics.
- Resources: Utilize computers equipped with Microsoft Word, and reference materials, such as citation style guides and grammar handbooks — plus access our 24/7 online resources including presentations, video playlist, the Brainfuse: Writing Lab, and more.
The Writing Center is dedicated to streamlining your writing process, offering assistance with getting started and topic selection to polishing and editing your final draft. Our experienced tutors are proficient in aiding students across various disciplines and aim to help you craft well-organized, lucid, and effective documents.
It's important to note that while we offer guidance on grammar, organization, and clarity, we don't write or revise your paper on your behalf. Furthermore, we respect your privacy and won't share details of your tutoring sessions with your instructors without your explicit consent.
When you visit the Writing Center in person, please remember to bring:
- A printed copy of your latest draft
- The assignment guidelines
- A flash drive for saving changes
- Printouts or photocopies of your sources
- A list of questions or concerns
- Your copy of A Writer's Reference
- An open mind and a willingness to receive constructive feedback
