Hold Code Explanations

The following list represents the type of holds that the College may place on student records, an explanation of what the hold means, and what action must be taken to resolve it. Students can view any current holds on their records by logging in to the myEFSC Portal and checking the Message Center where holds are listed, along with an abbreviation for the hold when applicable.

Holds may be placed on the student enrollment process for a number of reasons, including outstanding admission requirements, unpaid financial obligations, or an incorrect address. Because certain holds can prevent registration, students should use the information and contacts on the chart below to satisfy their holds as quickly as possible to save time during busy registration periods.

Hold Type What does this mean? How to Resolve Hold
3 Year HS Out of State Waiver You submitted the documentation to waive the out-of-state tuition fees for the term indicated. This does not prevent registration. See admissions each term for review of residency eligibility. Waiver guidelines.
30 Credit Advising Required The State of Florida requires all associate degree-seeking students to meet with an advisor and declare their intended transfer institution and major. Contact your advisor. Log in to the myEFSC Portal and make an advising appointment through process in the Student Services Appointments section.
Academic Probation You have been placed on academic probation. Make an appointment with a your Academic Advisor to review all requirements.
Academic Suspension You have been placed on academic suspension. This hold prevents registration. You must request approval to re-enroll by submitting a Petition for Academic Reinstatement form available from your campus Advising Coordinator. See more details.
Academic Warning You have been placed on academic warning. Contact your advisor. Log in to the myEFSC Portal and make an appointment following the process in the Student Services Appointments section.
Accts Rcv - Write Off Please contact Accounting. Contact Accounting at 321-433-5011
Contact Admissions See Admissions as you have outstanding Admissions Documents. Contact the Admissions Office on any campus.
Acct Balance - Transcript Hold You have unpaid fees that are past due. You are unable to request an official transcript or obtain your diploma. From the myEFSC landing page after login, under Account Summary, click "Pay My Bill" to pay your fees or to view your statement for the current semester. Learn more about how to pay fees.
Accts Rcv Write Off Accounts Receivable - Write Off: You have fees that are past due. Email studentaccounts@easternflorida.edu for more information.
Application Fee Not Paid You completed an application for admission and did not pay the fee. Visit the Student Accounts Office on the Cocoa or Melbourne campus to pay the fee.
AR-Collections Your account has been turned over to a collection agency. You are unable to register for classes or obtain your official enrollment verification, transcript or diploma. Please contact the collection agency to make payments or email studentaccounts@easternflorida.edu for more information.
AR-Other You are unable to register for classes or obtain your official enrollment verification, transcript or diploma. Email studentaccounts@easternflorida.edu for more information.
AR - Review your account for fees due You have unpaid fees that are past due. Email studentaccounts@easternflorida.edu for more information.
Bachelor Orientation You must complete the bachelor's degree orientation. Complete the online bachelor's orientation.
Bachelor Pending Acceptance You have submitted an application to EFSC's bachelor program. Your application is pending final review. This hold prevents registration. Your application will be reviewed upon receipt of all outstanding program requirements including college transcripts.
Bookstore Hold The Bookstore has placed this hold on your account. Visit or contact the Bookstore on any campus.
Ch 31: Contact VA to Register You are receiving VA benefits under Chapter 31. You must register with the VA. Contact 321-433-7140 to schedule an appointment.
College Transcript Required EFSC has not received your official transcripts from previously attended institutions. This hold prevents registration. Request final, official college transcript to be sent to EFSC.
Copy of Passport ID Pages International Student Services has placed this hold on your account. See International Student Services.
DE (Dual Enrollment) Registration Complete You have successfully registered for the upcoming term. No additional action is needed. If you need to make changes to your upcoming college course schedule:
Public School Students: Contact your H.S. advisor
Private School and Home School Students: Contact your EFSC advisor
Dual Enrl Initial Advising As a new dual enrollment student you are required to have a first time in college advising session with an advisor before being registered for your first term of classes.   Schedule an advising appointment with your advisor by logging into your myEFSC portal and follow the information under the blue heading that says “Student Services Appointments.”
Dual Enrollment Orientation You must complete your online dual enrollment orientation. See the Dual Enrollment section for guidance on accessing and completing the Virtual Dual Enrollment Orientation.
Equipment/Book Hold The Library has placed this hold on your account. Visit the Library on any campus.
Florida Registered Nurse License No. You must submit your FL Registered Nurse License Card or NCLEX-RN exam results to Admissions. This hold prevents registration. Submit to the Admissions and Records Office on any campus.
FL Residency Documentation All students must submit a Florida Residency Declaration. Students who qualify for in-state tuition must submit supporting documentation to receive the in-state rate. Submit the Florida Residency Declaration for Tuition Purposes process with the required supporting documentation
Gen Knowledge Test Passed EFSC has not received proof of your passing the four sections of the General Knowledge Test required for select teaching-related programs. Submit your report indicating passing scores on all four sections of the General Knowledge Test.
High School Transcript for Dual Enrollment EFSC has not received your official high school transcript. If you are a Brevard Public school student, EFSC will request an official electronic transcript directly from your school. No further action on your part is required. If you are a private school student, please request an official transcript be emailed from your school directly to your intended campus. If you are a home school student, no transcript is needed.
High School Transcript or GED Requirement EFSC has not received your official high school transcript with graduation date or GED transcript. This hold prevents registration. Request official high school transcript with graduation date or GED transcript. Send to the Admissions and Records Office on any campus.
Inactivated Must Readmit You have not completed a course at EFSC in the past year. Complete the online Admissions Application.
Incomplete Records You have outstanding admissions document(s). Visit the Admissions and Records Office on any campus.
Library Fine The Library has placed this hold on your account. Contact the Libary on your campus for details about this hold. Once logged into myEFSC, under Account Summary section click "Pay My Bill" to pay your overdue fines when applicable.
Mail Returned - Update Address The College received returned mail from your address on file. This hold prevents registration. See "How Do I Update My Address and Phone?" on the Student Online Reference Guide.
Music Hold The Music Department had placed this hold. Contact the Music Department, located on the Cocoa Campus.
Must see Athletic Dept The Athletic Department has placed this hold on your account. Contact the Athletic Department.
New Application Fee You completed an Application for Admission and did not pay the fee. Please bring your acceptance letter with payment to the Student Accounts Office on the Cocoa or Melbourne campus.
New Bachelor Advising Required You must schedule an appointment with a bachelor's degree advisor. Submit a request to meet with a bachelor's advisor. Schedule an appointment.
New Major to Enroll Next Term

If you plan to continue taking EFSC classes after you graduate, you must change your major. If you do not plan to continue at EFSC, no action needed. If you no longer intend to graduate, send an email to registrar@easternflorida.edu to have the hold removed.

Complete the Major Change Form and submit to the Admissions and Records Office on any campus.
New Student Advising Required (A1) The State of Florida requires all first time in college students to meet with an advisor to develop a plan of study. Schedule an advising appointment with your advisor by logging into your myEFSC portal and following the process in the Student Services Appointments section.
Non-Degree Seeking Student You are not seeking a degree at EFSC and may take up to 12 credits. To take additional credits, you must declare a major and satisfy remaining requirements. Visit the Admissions and Records Office on any campus for information.
Not Standard High School Grad EFSC does not recognize your high school graduation as equivalent to standard high school diploma. Schedule an Admissions appointment for options. See "How Do I Schedule an Advising or Admissions Appointment" on the Student Online Reference Guide.
NSF Check You paid with a check that was returned for non-sufficient funds. Once logged into myEFSC, under Account Summary section click "Pay My Bill" to pay your fees. Contact studentaccounts@easternflorida.edu for more information.
Paralegal Advising Required You are required to meet with a Paralegal advisor to develop a plan of study. Contact the Paralegal Department at 321-433-5494 to schedule an advising appointment.
Parking Fine Campus Security has placed this hold on your account. Once logged into myEFSC, under Account Summary section click "Pay My Bill" to pay your overdue fine.
Past Due Balance $100 or More You have an outstanding balance of $100 or more. You are unable to register for classes or obtain your official transcript or diploma. From the myEFSC landing page after login, under Account Summary, click "Pay My Bill" to pay your fees or to view your statement for the current semester. Learn more about how to pay fees.
Payment Plan - Nelnet Please contact Accounting. Contact Accounting at 321-433-5011
Placement Test Scores Required EFSC has no placement scores on file. This hold stops registration. Submit test scores to the Admissions and Records Office or request an exemption with an advisor.
Proof of Standard HS Diploma You may not register for classes until you provide proof of high school graduation. Upload proof of graduation to Admissions via the EFSC Student Document Dropbox.
Refund Returned Your record shows there has been a refund returned. Your refund preference is undefined. Please select a refund preference with BankMobile Disbursements or email studentaccounts@easternflorida.edu for more information.
Registration Hold A hold has been placed on your record that prevents registration. Visit the Admissions and Records Office on any campus.
Review your account for fees due You have unpaid fees that are past due. Email studentaccounts@easternflorida.edu for more information.
RN to BSN Prerequisite Required You must schedule an appointment with a bachelor's degree advisor. Submit a request to meet with a bachelor's advisor. Schedule an appointment.
See Admissions You have outstanding admissions document(s). Visit the Admissions and Records Office on any campus.
See Collegewide Chair or Dean The Collegewide Chair or Dean has placed this hold on your account. See the respective Collegewide Chair or Dean for your course or program.
See Health Sciences Health Sciences has placed this hold on your account. Contact Health Sciences.
See International Office International Student Services has placed this hold on your account. Contact International Student Services.
See Music Department The Music Department has placed this hold on your account. Contact the Music Department.
Social Security Card Required Admissions has placed this hold on your record for further verification. This hold prevents registration. Bring your Social Security Card to the Admissions and Records Office on any campus.
Submit Associates Grad App You have not submitted your online graduation application for your A.A./A.S. Degree. To be provisionally accepted to the bachelor program you must submit this application.    Submit your graduation application for your A.A./A.S. degree
Student Loan Default - Florida You are in default in making payments on a required scholarship loan, student loan, or guaranteed loan repayment. This hold prevents the receipt of official transcripts. Please contact the Financial Aid Office for additional information.
Student Orientation Required You must complete a new student orientation. This hold prevents registration. Take the required Student Orientation for your program.
Title IV Repayment Your federal aid was reduced due to a mandarory return of Title IV Funds calculation because you completely withdrew from classes. This hold prevents registration.   Please email finaid@easternflorida.edu for information regarding the return of your Title IV funds. To pay any fees due, log in to myEFSC and look for "Pay My Bill" under the Account Summary section.
Transient Student To take additional courses as a transient student, you must submit new authorization from your home institution each term. This hold prevents registration. If your home institution is a Florida state institution, submit your request for transient status through floridashines.org. For other institutions, submit a transient form or letter of authorization to the Admissions and Records Office on any campus.
Transient Transcript Required You were authorized to take courses as a transient student from EFSC to another institution. Official transcripts from that school are required. Request a final, official transcript to be sent to the Admissions and Records Office on any EFSC campus.
Veteran Out of State Waiver You submitted the documentation to waive the out-of-state tuition fees for the current term. This does not prevent registration. Submit proof of physical presence to Military & Veteran Service Center each term. View the Waiver Guidelines.
